What Liverpool City Council does ?
Liverpool City Council provides services to the businesses and more than 400,000 residents of the city of Liverpool.
We are changing the way we deliver services and the way we make decisions, through a radical modernisation programme.
The services we provide are now organised around five areas, or 'portfolios'
We are stamping out waste and inefficiency, putting our customers at the heart of everything we do.
We're using new technology to help us:
We are working with other key agencies in Liverpool to regenerate the city, through a partnership approach. To help achieve this, the Liverpool Partnership Group was set up in 1999.
We are also reviewing everything we do over five years as part of the Government's Best Value legislation. Best Value is about making sure all local authority services meet the standards people expect, at a reasonable cost
