WARM IN WINTER
Environmental Health co-ordinates a winter emergencies service to offer immediate short-term assistance to vulnerable groups in the borough, eg the elderly, single parents, people with difficulties. Heaters, blankets, water and emergency lighting can be provided.

WASTE AND RECYCLING - LOCAL AGENDA 21 GROUP
One of the Local Agenda 21 project groups bringing together in partnership the business community, environmental and residents groups and all others interested in establishing short and long term action plans and carrying out practical projects to address the environment and quality of life in Ealing. WASTE AND RECYCLING CENTRES
Household refuse (but not commercial) which cannot be collected as part of the normal household refuse collection service (such as garden waste, small quantities of DIY waste and bulky items) can be disposed of at any of the council's waste and recycling centres, free of charge.

WEDDINGS
The council has 3 main halls - in Ealing Town Hall, Greenford Hall and Acton Town Hall - which host around 300 wedding receptions a year. They can accommodate more than 300 seated guests, 500 theatre-style or 700 standing for a buffet. Multi-room hire is available for larger functions. In-house catering is available but optional and the majority of rooms are licensed for alcohol and music and dancing. Trading standards officers make sure you are not short changed in the quality of goods you buy. They check weighing machines, petrol pumps and spirit optics. They also check that packed goods are of the weight stated on the packet and that bulk deliveries such as coal and heating oil are as ordered. If you are concerned that you may have received short orders or goods contact them.
