The Council can lower kerbs and strengthen the footway in front of residential properties to allow residents to park their vehicles within their own property, charges vary.

A selection of video tapes is available for hire from Central, Southall, Acton, West Ealing, Greenford and Northolt libraries. The collections include feature films and instructional/educational videos on popular subjects. Hire charges and details of loan arrangements are available from libraries. The council employs a small team of specially trained rehabilitation officers to help newly visually impaired people to cope with everyday difficulties. This service includes teaching of practical skills for daily living, touch reading, communication skills, and instruction in mobility and orientation techniques. VOLUNTARY SECTOR TRANSPORT
There are a number of council vehicles (such as mini-buses and ramp ambulances) which are available to certain voluntary organisations on a short-term basis. Contact BRETS Transport. Ealing Community Transport hires mini-buses to community groups and runs PlusBus, a service for people who have difficulty using public transport due to illness, disability or age.
